Additionally, intensified natural catastrophes are driving funders to consider backing companies focused on climate adaptation, a long-overlooked sector.[2]

Higher Investment Bar for Climate Tech

Emissions reduction alone is no longer sufficient to justify investment, according to Sean O'Sullivan, founder and managing partner at SOSV.[2] Startups must now make a strong business case that extends well beyond carbon reduction, with the bar for climate tech investment described as "higher than ever before."[2]
